The Ross companies continued
their longest running community service project during October when
more than 5,200 gallons of household hazardous waste were collected
from Eaton Township residents on October 10 and 11, 2008.
The household hazardous
wastes, including used paints, motor oil, household chemicals and
cleaning products were collected at the township's Fall Dumpster Days
event. Associates from Ross Environmental Services, Inc., Ross Incineration
Services, Inc. and Ross Transportation Services, Inc. collected the
materials as a free community service to township residents.
"At the household hazardous waste collection event held at Eaton
Township Dumpster Days, we received more than 190 deliveries of household
hazardous waste from local residents and provided them with a very
necessary service. At the same time, we prevented more than 5,200
gallons of hazardous materials from being disposed of at a local landfill.
We believe that this is a valuable community service," said Maggie
Kelch, Community Relations Manager for Ross Environmental Services.
The October collection event marked the 20th time that the Ross companies
have collected household hazardous waste materials as a community
service for township residents. Over
the years, the companies have safely transported and disposed of more
than 88,000 gallons of household hazardous waste collected at Eaton
Township Dumpster Days.
